This genealogy had no documentation and no wife for Caswell.

With these clues I searched on Tennessee marriage records, finding only one match in Rutherford, Tennessee. But the groom's name was William A Medling. Searching on this name, another set of genealogies turned up with family info on William H Medling, whose wife was Elizabeth Lasiter, and their children matched the two girls in the Briscoe household in the 1860 census. I have not resolved William's middle initial.
