  Mother: Margarette Jane KILMER b: 8 Nov 1858 in Douglas Co., MO

  A couple of other genealogies report she was born in Missouri City, Fort Bend County, Texas.  This is near Houston.  No genealogy tells where they got these locations.  perhaps the report of Missouri as the birthplace is due to a confusion with Missouri City in Texas.  She could have been named after either the state or the city.  Here is Steve Lynch's information on Missouri Green.

  Census reports support the Missouri birthplace.  In 1900 John and his family are in Faulkner County, Arkansas, and the child Gertrude M, matching the child reported in these genealogies as Gertrude Missouri, is reported as born in Missouri.  The two older children still in the household, James and Myrtle, are both reported as born in Texas.
