  "William Green was imprisoned at Elmyra, NY in 1864 and most likely died there since he never returned home.  A relative has a letter he wrote from the prison in 1864 to his wife J C S (McSwain) Green.  That letter is in the possession of Mrs. Donnis Martin of Lattimore, NC."
