Notes
- My original source for Alsey Gaines had an error in making her the wife of John Mullinax (b 1755). There was a conflict in dates that I could not resolve till I discovered the source for the Mullinax family information on Allcensus.com.
The original source had the same date, 1774, as the date of birth for Alsey and for her first son John Mullinax. I originally thought the date 1774 must have been the the date of MARRIAGE, for her husband John would be about 19 years old that year, and we could assume she was approximately the same age.
The Allcensus source clarified the problem by indicating that Alsey (spelled Alse in the second source and Alsie in a third source) was the WIFE of John S Mullinax JR (b 1775).
