In 1920, Bailey J is listed as Jack, a nickname for the John.  But one genealogy reports his middle name as Jackson instead of John, which would also yield the nickname Jack.  No documentation was offered by the genealogy.  But I discovered that his maternal grandmother's maiden name was Jackson.  So Jackson as a middle name makes sense.

Right after that I found his WWI draft registration, which had never come up before in any searches.  This has his full name as Bailey Jackson Lovin, with his signature of the full name.

In 1920 and 1930 he is listed in the census under the name Jack.  Most of his later listings in records have his name as Jack.

The next record in time sequence is puzzling.  B E's son Bailey Jackson, of Jack, is listed in 1929 in a directory listing in California, where Jack and his wife Edith Fitzhugh lived out their later life.  They married in early 1920 in Oklahoma, and their first child was born in January 1921 in Oklahoma.  The California listing is from the 1929 City Directory for Bakersfield, at the southern end of the San Joaquin Valley.  And this matches a later listing in Merced, California, also in the Joaquin Valley, in 1955.  The puzzling thing about it is that the next year they are enumerated in the 1930 census back in Allen, Oklahoma, where they were before.

In 1930, he is now going by the name Jack and is given the middle initial B for Bailey, his actual first name.

At some point they moved to Lubbock.  They were reported in the Lubbock City Directory for 1938, 1939 and 1940.

They were still in Lubbock in 1941 when their son Bailey J Jr enlisted in the Army there.  After the War they moved to California.  They were reported there in the Ventura City Directory for 1948-1949.  Their son Joseph is in their household.

A 1955 directory listing appears to be for Bailey and Edith, but it is in Merced, California, back up in the Joaquin Valley, north of Bakersfield where they were listed in 1929, before showing up back in Oklahoma in the 1930 census, and Lubbock in the 1930s.

Bailey and Edith and both their sons and wives were listed in the 1956 City Directory for Ventura, California.  The second entry here for Jack seems to refer to Bailey Jackson Jr.  Note the different town, Fillmore, in the residence address.  The first entry reports that Bailey J (Sr) and Edith live in Santa Paula).  Both went by Jack, but the different home address would indicate another family unit.  The entry for Baily Jack here also reports the wife as Edith.  Maybe these are two entries for Bailey Jackson Sr with jobs at different car companies.

But Bailey Jackson Jr is a physician,a nd was reported in 1955 in Texas, where he was an instructor in pediatrics.  Both these entries sound like his father Bailey Jackson Sr.  But the home address is different.

Joseph and Betty are part owners of the Lovin & Morill company.  Joe's listing seems to indicate that he and Betty owned two residences, one in El Rio and another in Oxnard, both in northern Ventura County.
