Martin married Martha (Mattie) Vann Burton, a widow, about 1905. In 1910 they are living in Jefferson County, Oklahoma. There are two children from her first marriage in the home.

Some genealogies have a some sparse information about this couple. Lacking documentary evidence of very much on them, I am including some of this information that, while spotty and undocumented, provides credible information that seems to come from family sources, and does match the details we know. This fills in the picture a bit.

In 1920, we find them living in Grady County, Oklahoma. The first two children reported in the 1910 census do not appear to be in the home now. Stilla might possibly be the same as Lydia. But Lee, who should be 13 or 14 in 1920, does not match Ben B in name or age. Ben should be the second child, at age 13 in 1920.
