Note that this report says Mattie has had only one child.  Also Mattie and Alex have been married only 8 years, while Floyd is 18 years old.  This would mean Floyd is not her child, but Flora would be.  The record also reports that Alex and Mattie have been married only 8 years.  I do not have information on the first wife.

1910 Federal Census, Dekalb County, Georgia, 21 April, McWilliams Militia District (1448 Precinct), District 17, page 10, Hse/Fam #63

In this census, a few doors down we find Floyd's father Alexander S Stewart, age 59, and stepmother Mattie L, also 59, with a 15-year-old daughter Flora.

The 1918 Draft Registration for WWI gives us several details, including full name of Floyd and his wife, and exact birth date.

World War I Draft Registration Cards, 1917-1918

Stewart, Letticia C  Wife F W 38 GA GA GA

In 1910, Floyd's wife is reported as Martine C but in 1920 and 1930, the wife is Letitia C.  These are such different names, it appears these are two different persons.  But the middle initial is the same and the birth year would match.  Jo Ann Colquitt, another researcher on this line, has suggested that maybe Martine and Letitia are the same person, pointing out that the family is not aware of more than one marriage.  I have not found any documentation of the name otherwise.I found a death report that might be our Floyd Stewart.

    Georgia Deaths, 1919-98
    Floyd Stewart
Death Date: 26 Dec 1925 Butts County

The death occurred in Butts County, whereas other sources have reported Floyd only in Lithonia, in the Atlanta area.  But we know he did died before the 1930 census, because Letitia is a widow, with her son Clarence Grady in her houshold.
