Notes

  • George was the second born child of Isaac Jefferson "Jeff" Briscoe and Mary Jane Osborne Kincaid.  I am including the report of the whole blended family here from the 1870 census, with his older half-siblings named Kincaid and Briscoe.  Isaac is also Mary Jane's son.

    Briscoe, Robert W 9 M W born TX
    Briscoe, Isaic [sic] T 4 M W born TX
    Briscoe, George W 2 M W born TX

Note that George is reported as already 2 here, meaning he would have been born in 1868.  But in the Holden genealogy, S H Norton, who provides excellent details on the family, reports an exact date of birth in February 1869.  This would mean he was less than 1.5 years at the time of the census in 1870.  It seems odd he would be reported as two.

Several genealogies provide his middle name, and a couple haev his wife's middle name.
