Notes

  • Different census reports give different names from which we can put together Sarah Elizabeth's name.  A genealogy, citing Missouri census sources, gives the name as Sarah E.  I found her listed as Elizabeth in the 1860 census.  This indicates her name was Sarah Elizabeth.

John W is unmarried, still living with his parents in 1850, and is married to Sarah Elizabeth with 2 children in 1860.   The oldest child, F Marion, is 4 years old in June 1860, so born in 1855. Thus we can estimate the year of marriage for John and Sarah as 1854.
