  A couple of genealogies have reproted that John died in Prentiss County, Mississippi.  For some time I could not find his burial information, and thought maybe he was sent back there for burial, and that was the basis of the Mississippi death report.  But I obtained the Texas Death certificate through a cousin an coresearcher Marion Mixon, working with two other family researchers, Linda Hanks Martin Bussell and Marilyn Messick Boyd.
  
  This reports that he was buried in Royse City, near Dallas, where he is reported living in the 1910 census.  Thus the genealogies reporting his burial and/or death in Prentiss County,Mississippi, have confused our John William Philpot with another John Philpot who lived and died in Prentiss County.
