• Several genealogies report this child's name as Reges.  I am wondering if this is meant to be Regis in the original name given by the family.  He is also reported to be known by the nickname Roger, which is both an English and a French name.
  
  He is recorded in the 1850 census, but the name is hard to decipher.  In 1850, he is living at home with his widowed mother and his younger brother Israel.  His name is also spelled Reyes, in an agreement between his mother on the one hand and himself and his brother Israel on the other.  The details of the agreement are not cited in the source.  Reyes is a Spanish plural form of the same name Regis, meaning king.

  Some undocumented genealogies report Reyes/Regis' date of death as about 1851.  I have seen no evidence for death or any event by which to estimate date of death.
