James Madison, Jr. (4th President of the United States) and his younger brother William Taylor Madison (Valerie Knost Price's Patriot Ancestor for The Daughters of The American Revolution) are related to Zachary through their maternal grandmother, Frances Taylor who married Colonel James Madison, Sr.'s father, Ambrose.

I am a descendant of Randal Clark and Lucinda Jane Gray of Macoupin Co. Illinois. In the history of Randall Clark written in the latter part of 1800 it states that Randall Clark came to Illinois with his uncle Arter Taylor. Arter Taylor was the brother of Mary Taylor.
They are according to the history cousins of President Zachary Taylor....thier father is William T. Taylor a brother of Colonel Richard Lee Taylor. Both Revolutionary War Soldiers. Zachary Taylor and Elizabeth Lee are supposed to be the parents of William T. TAYLOR
I have come across a history of the Taylor Family where it is stated that Colonel Richard Taylor had a brother named William Taylor.
