In 1880, Jerrome is living in the household of his brother Elias along with two other brothers.  Here the brother matching most closely the age/birth date of Jerrome in the previous census is listed as Dalton J.  Thus we can deduce that his full name was Dalton Jerrome.  Note that his nephew, Elias' son, is named after him.

Another Mullins researcher, Charlotte Claborn, reports the names of his bothers as Brantley wrote them on his application for recognition as an Easter Cherokee.  It is odd that he does not list the name of Dalton Jerrome.  Could this be because he is a half-brother, the son of Jane, rather than Elizabeth?  The date of death of Elizabeth is uncertain.  I had supposed she died in childbirth with Jerrome in 1863.  But this and his absence from Brantleys list of brothers indicates he is Jane's son, not Elizabeth's.

"Doctor Brantley Mullen in his eastern cherokee application stated his brothers names were:  Christopher Columbus Mullins, Elias Mullow Mullins, Mc Pierson B. Mullins, and that he had no sisters."
