Note the name of Leumana in Holden's transcription.  Holden does not give sources for his names and information, though he has done primary research and draws upon family information.  In the 1880 census above, her name is just the initials L J.  But in 1900 it is Levina.  This clarifies the name in light of names in the Padgett family.  This is clearly an attempt to spell the name Lavinia, which is William's mother's name.  It is spelled in sources Lavinia, Louvinia and other variations.

Her nickname appears in some censuses and in William's death certificate as Viney, a common nickname for other women named Lavinia in the 1800s.  These indicators lead me to conclude that the daughter ws named after her grandmother, Lavinia Nancy McSwain.  Holden told me that while we knew her as Lavinia in the Arkansas family, in North Carolina she was known as Nancy.  This would also help explain his uncertainty about the form of the name of the daughter, not being familiar with the grandmother as Lavinia, and Leumana appears to be an attempt to transcribe a form of Lavinia.
