The presence of Sylvia's daughter and the residence reports for 1935 indicates Sylvia's previous marriage to a man named Morgan.  Her fairly extensive obituary mentions nothing about this previous marriage or any survivors related to the Morgan family, including her daughter Patricia reported here in the 1940 census.  The obituary gives the date of her marriage to Leonard Blankenship as July 1939.  So her first husband died some time between 1835 (approximate birth year of Patricia) and 1839.

In Broken Bow (McCurtain County), they are near the Oklahoma border.  Sylvia's previous residence was in Stephens County (County seat Marlow) in the west central part of the state.  It may be that she and Mr Morgan had moved to Bryan County before he died.
