• The source that has the middle initial also calls this Shadrack Jr.  Yet it does not have the middle initial in the father's name.  Shadrack L also had a nephew named Shadrack, son of his brother Joseph.  Other genealogies do have the middle initial L for both this Shadrack and his father, but not in the grandfather Shadrack's name, though these older two are also sometimes designated likewise as Sr and Junior.  It seems too many people putting together a genealogy are just not careful or consistent.

  Shadrack Green Jr's burial memorial on Find a Grave states that his mother was Shadrack Green's first wife, name unkown.  However, Shadrack L Green Jr was born in November 1855, and hisd father married Benisa Ann Owen in February 1855.  So Benisa has to be his mother.
  
  We see above that Shadrack Jr appears as a child in the household in the 1860 census, reported as age 6, or born about 1854, and in 1870 as age 14, born about 1856, with Benisa as the wife of his father in both censuses
