Notes

  • I met Buck in 2008 by email, when he contacted me about the Lynch lineage, after finding my genealogy online.  We had some very congenial exchanges, as we discussed his family, and he shared details I had no precious access to.  With his recollections and some family sources providing important clues, I probed other sources and we put together the Lynch lineage you see here.  I learned only in January 2014 that he had passed away in 2011.

This marriage record appears to be for Buck, though I was not aware that he ever went by Rube,  The details fit otherwise.

    Obituary of Buck Lynch

    ------------------------------------

    Buck Lynch
TEMPLE, TEXAS Buck Linsten Lynch, 66, passed away peacefully at his residence on Tuesday, August 9, 2011, surrounded by family. Buck was born on October 14, 1944, to Arthur and Lila Lynch in Matador, and raised in Whiteflat, Texas.

Buck was known for his great sense of humor and he was always so full of life. Being deaf didn't hold him back from anything. He enjoyed life with his many deaf friends, and most of all with his family. Buck retired in 1997 after more than 30 years of work as a printer. Growing up, Buck attended the Texas School for the Deaf in Austin, where he learned the trade of printing.

He is preceded in death by his parents and three brothers. He is survived by his two sisters, Lola Allison and Martha Woodard of Amarillo; wife of 40 years Frances Taylor-Lynch; step-daughter Betty Fernandini; daughters Lisa Godsil and husband Kevin, and Molly Elliott; son Wayne Lynch and wife Pen, and six grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m.8:00 p.m. at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home on Thursday, August 11, 2011. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. at Greathouse Cemetery.

I note that the obituary was published on 11 August 2011.  It announces a visitation that evening, then announces the graveside service at 10:00 AM without a date.  This is obviously the next morning, 12 August 2011.
