Notes

• The first record I found for this person was the 1910 census, when he is living with his own household, next door to his widowed father George H Miller and his older single brother Tom.  The name of the head of household looks like Jeane, which I cannot make sense of as a man's name.

  A genealogy found at this point with the extra clues I had, clarifies the name.  Jean's full name was Eugene, but his nickname was spelled Jean, rather than the common form for a male name, Gene.  In the 1910 census, his name is entered as Jeane.

  In Jean's WWII draft registration his wife is called Sallie M Miller.  With her lising as May in 1910, this tells us her full name was Sarah May, despite the genealogy above naming her Mary.
