Jewel's name is spelled phonetically in this 1920 census entry. I have not discovered what the middle initial stands for. When she was born, the family was living in or near Bradley, in eastern Grady County. I have not seen her birth certificate or other documentation of where she was officially reported born. Lindsay, Grady County, would have been closer, but Chickasha, farther west, and the county seat of Grady, would have has better medical services. Maybe she was born at home.
