In 1920, the census in Jefferson County, Tennessee gives us a lot of good information about Carl and his wife, Daisy.
Carl is still single at this point, and his widowed mother Mary F Palmer Strange is living with him. They are next door to Carl's brother William and his wife Edith. We find that Daisy's family live three doors on the other side of William and Edith. Also next to Daisy's mother and father, Elmer and Martha, is Perry Phillips, age 23, and his wife Martha, newlyweds with no children. Perry appears to be one of Daisy's bothers.

Next door to this family is the oldest son and his wife, Perry and Lennie Phillips.

In this 1920 census, Daisy is said to be 16 years old. This would mean she was born in 1904. An actual birth date for her is given in Claude Hall's genealogy of the Strange family, but that is 20 August 1901. It seems strange that her parents, and even she herself, would not have realized she was 19 instead of 16! I am wondering if Claude had misread a date on the gravestone which could have read 20 August 1904? Lacking any other sources or evidence at this time, I am following Claude's date.
