    He always went by Seth, as reported first in the 1850 census.  Note that inthe military records he is Seth or A Seth.  One record index has only A S.  This record also indicates he originally enlisted in the Tennessee 63rd Infantry.

    The 63rd was famous, ans notably fought in the battle of Chickamauga, a major win for the South, holding back the Union advance in an attempt to take Virginia.  The North experienced great losses in teis battle.  But according to his military enlistment informatoin above, Seth joined after Chickamauga.
