By the time George registered for the WWI draft, he was living in Dallas, working for a tea company in downtown. George's draft registration gives no middle name, either in his listing or his signature on the card. This record gives us his father's birth place in England, and provides the new information that George was born, not in Bexar, as earlier information seemed to indicate, but in neighboring Guadalupe County.

George was married, but his death record reports him as Single, rather than widowed or divorced.
In the 1920 census, his wife's name is Jessie A. THe Find-a-Grave memorial below reports his wife (at the time of death) as Kathryn A. His son in the 1930 census is George M, but the only child mentioned in the memorial is Frederick William. These may be two different wives. I have not found marriage records George or either wife's name.
George's situation in 1920 is unclear. He is registered with the same household number as Fred Gold and his family, but given a separate Family number as head of the second family. But his street address is also different. Fred's family address appears to be 120 Olive St, while George's address is 121 Omaha. This may be one house with two entrances on the corner of Olive and Omaha, so that each entrance is on a separate street. But it is is odd that the numbers are in sequence.

The 1940 census provides some details that clarify that Katheryn is a different wife from Jessie whom we met in 1930. Katheryn was born in Iowa about 1911, while Jessie was born in Texas in about 1905. Jessie may have died, and note also the absence of George M, who might have died also before the 1940 census. They may have been divorced, in which case, George is probably with his mother. I have not found the divorce or death record for Jessie.

With this census, informaiton for the Find-a-Grave memorial below enables us to fil lout the ralationships. The memorial reports that George Hicks was the father of George Magray, giving us Jesise's son's middle name, and F W (Frederick William), whom we see in the 1940 census and the grave memorial, the son of Katheryn. The note on the other children informs us that Katheryn was the widow of a man named Fulmer. George Hicks adopted her children Katheryn Fulmer and Robert Howard Fulmer Jr.

The memorial on Find a Grave reports a different place of birth for George than he himself stated in his WWI draft registration. This memorial says he was born in New Braunfels, near San Antonio, while he reported the place was nearby Marion, in Guadalupe County. I have not found his birth record.
