• Rhoda is first known form the entry in the 18670 census where she is recorded as Roda [sic] Barnett, wife of James Barnett, in Monroe County, tennesee..  Her maiden name may be Smith.  The couple and their threechidlren are oving enxt door to a widow named Roda Smith, age 77, who could well be Roda Barnett's mother.  Another widow Smith, age 40, is next door on the other side, and could be a sister-in-law
