    Roy R. Hill Dies After Long Illness; Burial at Gotebo

    Roy Hill, a tuberculosis sufferer for many years, died at his home onEast Birch street at 11:20 a.m. Sunday [27 Nov 1949].  Services wereat 1:30 p.m. Wednesday [30 Nov 1949] in the Methodist church with Rev.Brodace Elkins, pastor, preaching the sermon. Arrangements were incharge of Pitcher's funeral home and burial was in the Gotebocemetery.

    Roy Robert Hill was born Dec. 6, 1893 in Wise county, Texas. When hewas a small boy his parents came to Oklahoma and located at Gotebo. Hewas married to Ethel Spaulding April 1, 1915, in Gotebo. He came toCarnegie with his family in 1931 and this has been his home since. Royand his uncle, Mac Hill, at one time conducted a meat market here andhe engaged in the livestock business until his health failed in 1940.He spent many months in the hospital at Clinton on three occasions.His last stay in the hospital was in the spring of 1948. Since thattime he has been at his home here. He was seriously ill three weeksbefore his death.

    He was converted when a boy in the Pentecostal church.

    Survivors are the wife, Mrs. Ethel Hill of the home;
    seven daughters, Mrs. Dorothy McCaa, Bakersfield, Calif.; Mrs. RoyceSalyers, Wylie, Texas; Mrs. Perdeita Reid, Santa Monica, Calif.; Mrs.Betty Stewart, Marysville, Colo.; Mrs.
    Kathrine Guest, Venice, Calif.; Mrs. Billy Ann Henderson, Fort Cobb,and Sandra Sue at home;
    two sons, Donald Lloyd and Jimmy at home;
    five brothers, Oscar, Ed and Lois, all of Oklahoma City; Buck ofBeaudesta, Calif.;
    three sisters, Mrs.Gertrude Ellis, Port Arthur; Mrs. Grace Coulter,Durant, and Mrs. Lee Collier, Redonda Beach, California,
    and 13 grandchildren.
