    Funeral services for Betty Mildred Epperson, 93, of Conroe, Texas will be held on Friday, March 8, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. in The Chapel at Conroe Funeral Directors with the Rev. Phillip Moore officiating.  Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service on Friday in The Chapel.

    Mrs. Epperson was born on March 26, 1919 in Itasca, Texas to George and Mary Abbott and passed away peacefully on March 4, 2013 in Montgomery, Texas with her family by her side.  Betty was a 1936 graduate of Itasca high school and attended Texas Tech University.  She loved to travel and throughout her life, she was able to take two trips through Europe.

    Betty worked for Southwestern Bell for over 33 years in Lubbock, Texas and was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church where she served as Deacon for 3 years.  She also was a member of the Retired Pioneer's of Southwestern Bell, Past President of the ABWA, and Secretary of the Ladies Auxiliary at the Presbyterian Church in Lubbock.

    Betty met and married the love of her life, Dwight E. [Dwight L] Epperson and they were married for 9 years and resided in South Carolina until his passing.  Betty was a loving, kind mother, wife, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who loved life and her family.  She was dearly loved and be missed by all who knew and loved her.

    She was preceded in death by her loving parents, her beloved husband, Dwight Epperson, her sister, Glenn Fuqua, step-sister, Jane Estes and step-daughter, Lynn Pearson.

    Betty is survived by her loving family: daughters and sons-in-law, Gail J. and Gilbert W. Box and Jana Jo and Grady Collins; grandchildren, Suzanne Box and James A. Box and wife, Mary; Great grandchildren, Michael J. Box and Amber L. Box; cousin, Bill Morris; step-children, Bo Epperson, Jimmy Epperson, Bobbie Oliver and Emma Jo Spivey; step-grandchildren, Stephen Collins, Brian Collins and Christa Collins; niece, Janie Lu Beatty; nephews, Rob Fuqua and wife, Judie, Len Fuqua and wife, Carole and Dr. Murray Young and wife, Jane; numerous other dear relatives and friends also survive.
