    Gladys Irene Tabor

    Gladys Irene Fritz Tabor, 77, of Mountain View, Oklahoma passed away on Saturday, February 2, 2002 at Carnegie Municipal Hospital.  Gladys was born May 10, 1924 at the Zimmerman Home Place in the Pecan Community to C.E. and Lora (Johnson) Zimmerman.

    Gladys married Elby N. (Bunky) Fritz on April 6, 1943 at Hobart, Oklahoma. To this union two chil­dren were born: a son Stephen and a daughter Rebecca.

    "Bunky" passed away March 24, 1963.  She later married William Lawrence "Bill" Tabor on September 1, 1967 at her home south of Mountain View. He preceded her in death on December 23, 2001.

    Gladys loved her family dearly and she also loved making the world more beautiful through flowers. She worked at the Moun­tain View Flower Shop and at Becky's Bouquet for many years.  She was also a member of the Mistletoe Club.  Gladys became a Christian at an early age and was a member of the Mountain View Church of Christ.  After her marriage to Bill she attended the First Christian Church in Mountain View with him until his death.

    Gladys is survived by one son:  Stephen and his wife Patricia of Mountain View;  One daughter, Rebecca and husband Allan of Carnegie;  One brother:  Eugene Zimmerman of Carnegie;  One sister Lorene Russell of Mountain View;  five granddaughters:  Misty George and husband Gary of Hobart;   Dusti Gallagher and husband Paul of Wamego, Kansas; Allana Orgain and husband Andy of Tulsa; Mandy Fritz and fiancé J W Gross of Temple [Tempe?], Arizona; Deana Bowlin of Carnegie and one great-great granddaughter, Darcy George of Hobart.

    Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, C.E. and Lora Zimmerman; husband Elby N. (Bunky) Fritz; husband William Lawrence (Bill) Tabor and one sister, Anna Belle Hansell.

    Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 6, 2002 at 2:00 pm at the Church of Christ in Mountain View, Oklahoma with Dan Wheeler officiating.

    Interment was in the Mountain View Cemetery under the direction of Pitcher-Hackney Funeral Home, Carnegie, Oklahoma.
