The marriage record says Owen and Mary married in December 1855, yet the 1860 census reports their daughter Julia as 5 years old already. If she was really 5 years old, and they used the correct census date of 1 July, Julia would have been born before July 1855. Even going by the actual date the enumerator got to the Jenkins household in September, she would have been born before September 1855. So they must have rounded her age report up a year or more.
