Notes

  • In 1930 there are two records for Victor in Seattle, Washington.  First he and his wife Gwendolyn (Gwyn here) or Gwendoline are listed in the city directory.

In the 1930 census for Seattle, a record appears for Victor, Italian-born, and Gwendoline, with her son Edwin Gray.  Note that in this record, Gwendoline is reported as born in England, as well as her parents.  This appears to be Gwendolyn Hibbs who was previously married to bandleader Earl T Gray, which is supported by Victor's stepson here named Edwin Gray.  But in the 1920 census for Earl and Gwendolyn, she was reported born in Washington, and her father and mother born in Kansas and Missouri, respectively.

1930 Federal Census, King County, Washington, 18 April, Seattle, District 11-212, page 21A, 8421 10th Ave SW, Hse #288, Fam #296

The marriage record for Victor and Gwyn did not turn up till after the above two 1930 records.  This indicates they had married only in August 1929.

In the 1940 census, a Victor Tomera is reported living in the Mission Hotel in San Francisco, working as a Real Estate salesman as before, and married, but with no wife reported with him. At first this seemed to be Victor Tomer, but there is some indication that this is a different person.
