• "My grandmother Addie Flora Davis was born in Oct 1915 to Marlin Davis and Ella Bivens Davis.  Same dad. different moms.  He is running back and forth between these two women having kids with both of them.  Ella is a full 20 years older than he is and is a colorful character to put it mildly.  Married 3 times, but I can find no record of her and Marlin being married although she took his last name."

  Family sources report that J D Tugman had a wife named Flo.  This would match records for Addie Flora Davis Maxwell, who was the third wife of J D Tugman.  Her death record reports her full name as Addie Flora Tugman, with maiden name Davis.
  
  Addie has not been found in the 1920 census.  In 1930, she and her younger sister Alta Davis are living with their older brother Joseph Goodwin and his family.  This probably means their mother died earlier.  Ella Bivens Davis has not been found in the 1920 census, either.  In 1920, her son Joseph was a boarder with another family working for them.

  With the surname of Maxwell from later records in California, I found Flora in the 1940 census, with her husband Jeff Maxwell and two children across the border in LeFlore County, Oklahoma.  From the age of their only child here, it appears that Flora and Jeff married about 1934.

  Later records document her presence in Kern County, California, where she later married her second husband, J D (Jack) Tugman.
  
  A record in the Bakersfield city directory appears to report her under the name Mrs Flora Davis Maxwell.  There is no information given in the listing indicating she is the widow of a Maxwell (a common designation in these directories), so perhaps they were divorced.
  
  I have found no divorce record in California or Nevada.  If the divorce occurred in Oklahoma, no record of it will be found online.  In 1960 the two boys reported in the 1940 census would be about 20 and 24 years old.

  Residence here is reported only as Edison.  This is a town near Bakersfield.  There are several entries for people named Maxwell.  Nearby is a Clarence A Maxwell with his wife Opal.  This is the name of one of Jeff's brothers, so this is likely the right Clarence A Maxwell.
  
  There is a James D Mixwell who could be Flora's son James.  Insufficient details are included in these directories to determine the exact relationship of everyone with the same last name.

  I found Jeff Maxwell's death record in Kern County, California, indicating they were in California together.  His death was before the reported date of Flora's marriage to J D Tugman in 1966.  But I found no entry for a Jeff Maxwell in the Bakersfield city directory for 1960 where we found the apparent record of Flora.
