Linda VIxie, in touch with Barbara's daughter, reports the following:

    ----------------
Here’s is the marriage record of Roger L. Tripp to Barbara L. Sullivanin Raton, NM, 16 Sep 1957. His birth date and place are given....(Sullivan is Barbara’s married name; maiden name was Cleburn.)

Barbara’s age isn’t correct, and she wasn’t born in Texas. She wasthen 19 years old, almost 20, and this is her third marriage. Herdaughter (my friend, who I’m doing this work for) was the child ofanother guy in there between #2 and #3. Mr. Sullivan was already inGermany with the army when my friend was conceived. His name is on herorig. birth cert, but he can’t be her father.

License #48124 issued and recorded 16 September 1957

There is a marriage license on file for Barbara Tripp dated 14 May1960.  But it was not executed.  The ceremony part of it is stillempty. This document authorizes the marriage of Barbara Togna LoreneTripp to Julius Nemeth, both of Barberton, Ohio.  They both give thesame residence address.  This document reports that Barbara has beendivorced twice.  We would expect the most recent of those to be adivorce from Roger Tripp, since that is her last married name. However, we have the report from her daughter above that she had beenmarried twice before marrying Roger.

This document is wrong in stating that she was twice divorced.  It mayhave been three times.  This is also indicated in the alternative namegiven with the index for this record, Barbara Cleburn.  The birth datehere is a little different from that given on her license for marriageto Roger Tripp.  That earlier one gave ther birth date as 20 October1934, and this one says 28 October 1934.  Her age is reported as age26 in 1960, the same as she reported in 1957.  The age on thiscertificate matches the birth date given, even if the specific day isdifferent.

Tripp family researcher reports that Barbara misrepresented here age alot.

"Barbara misrepresents her age a lot,  in the many documents we’vefound on her.  She has a sad history and was quite the wild childthroughout her short life.  This is only a fraction of the story.  Shespent most of her life in prison.  I’ve learned not to be surprised byanything we find on her, but I always still am."

Note that on both these marriage licenses, Barbara's birth place isreported as Dallas, Texas.

She was twice previously married and twice divorced
    Spouse's Name Julius Nemeth
Spouse Birth Date 5 Apr 1925

    Spouse Father's Name Louis Nemeth
    Spouse Mother's Name Vilma Resnaki
He was once previously married, now a widower
License issued 14 May 1960 Summit County, Ohio
Certificate of solemnization unfilled, no filing date.

Her name in this license is Barbara Togna Lorene Tripp.  The Lorenelooks like it could be a middle name, but the sequence is like it is amarried name.  Togna, however, could also be a middle name, maybe asurname somewhere in her mother’s line?  Her father was Charles ACleburn, her mother Elsa Youngren.  Linda Vixie comments that Tognawas an alias that Barbara liked and used sometimes.

Also, this license states that she has been married twice and divorcedtwice, before this license in 1960.  That includes the Tripp license. So she has lowered the number of marriages in this declaratoin, ifearlier information was correct that she had already been marriedtwice when she married Roger Tripp at age 19. Or could her daughterhave got confused about when the various marriages were?

Linda Vixie found out from Nemeth family members that Barbara had beenserving as a nanny for Julius Nemeth's daughters after this wife died. They were planning to get married, but then Julius called it off.

"Barbara was the nanny for several girls in a widower’s household.I’ve talked to them, and they remember her, but their father kickedher out before the marriage occurred. They didn’t know they went asfar as a license."

I have found some more documents for Barbara, and her parents with herin the 1940 Texas census.  This reports her born in Colorado.  Barbaramay have actually had a legitimate erroneous memory and thought shewas born in Texas, since she was only two in this census.  She wouldnot have remembered Colorado before her family moved to Texas.

Barbara's age of two in the 1940 census would correlate with her ageas 19 in 1957 when she married Roger Lee Tripp.  Her grave has tehbirth year as 1937.  Updated info for her memorial on Find a Grave wassubmitted and the updted memorial is included here.

There is a second memorial for a Barbara L Cleburne who matches ourBarbara Lorene Cleburn, but the burial is in another cemetery.  Thismemorial has no dates in the primary data fields, but with a note onthe burial date from Colorado Springs city burial records.  There isno photo of a grave.  The date of bnurial matches the year of burialreported in the above memorial.  It appears this memorial was postedwith the burial informatoni form a death certifiacgte or simialrrecord for Colorado Springs records, when the actual burial occurredin the Beulah Cemetery at Pueblo.  This could have been because, likemay other cases I have seen, the coroner or physician was told onecemetery, but that place was uncertain or the burial place was changedafter removal fopr preparation.

But the Evergreen Cemetery burial registry has no Cleburn listed inthe records.  This seems to corroborate our supposition that thismemorial was entered from a list based on the physician's report.  NoColorado death record has been found.
