    His birth and death dates on his gravestone are only the year, matching the 1870 census age of 4.  His dates are engraved on one side of his parents' 4-sided pillar stone.  Under his is also the name of Birdie I East and her dates 1890 - 1906.  She fits the profile of another chidl of Alvis and Jane, but Alvis died in 1872.  She would not be George's wife -- she died at about 16 years old, and he was about 24 at that time.  I ahve found no other referende to her.  But her inscription on Alvis and Jane's stone like their two sons seems to indicate she was buried together with this family.
