BURIAL Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg, Petersburg City, Virginia
He Attended the University of Virginia from 1856 to 1857 and was a 1859 graduate of the University of New York City. He enlisted into Co. A, 12th VA Inf. on Apr. 19, 1861 as Private at Petersburg, VA. On Apr. 23, 1861, he was promoted to Hospital Steward. On Sep. 1, 1861, he transferred to Co. D, 5th VA Cav. and on May 15, 1862, to the 13th VA Cav. On Sep. 10, 1862, he was promoted to Asst. Surgeon, later being promoted to Surgeon (CSN). His record also states that he was commissioned into the 1st VA Artillery. His service record indicates that he died of a service connected disease.
