    Mrs. Philpot died Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at an Allen nursing home. She was born June 24, 1928 near Stonewall, Oklahoma to Thomas Patrick and Bertie Edith Lilley Shannon. She attended Stonewall schools.

    She married Jack Waldon Walker. He preceded her in death. She then married Lloyd Allen "Bud" Godfrey August, 1966. He died March 29, 1994. She later married Joe Philpot on February 6, 1995. He preceded her in death on January 11, 2005. Mrs. Philpot was a salesperson for Neal's Shoe Store in Ada for several years.

    Survivors include three sons, Jerry Walker, Oklahoma City, Tom Walker, Ada, and Jack Walker, Fernley, Nevada; three daughters, Sharon McConnell, Ada, Sandi Maihos, Oklahoma City, and Debbie Hasskarl, Ada; nineteen grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.

    Bearers will be her grandsons and great grandsons, Donnie Walker, Brian Walker, Jon Walker, Jacob Walker, Justin P. Elliott and son-in-law, Joe Maihos. Honorary bearers will be Scooter McAnally, Shawn Walker, Shane Alexander and Timmie Owens.

    Vera's obituary says she first married She married Jack Waldon Walker, then after his death she married Lloyd Allen "Bud" Godfrey in August 1966.  Bud died on 29 March 1994, and Vera married Joe Philpot on 6 February 1995.

    But I note that in the Public Records listings cited above, she is listed (or at least reported in this collection) under the name Vera E Godfrey in 1996.  This address is the same one reported, however, for Joseph Philpot.  So she was already Vera Philpot at that time.  They married in August 1995.

    There are two different memorials for Vera, one under each of her married names!  Vera shares a headstone with her second husband in the Denney Cemetery.  Her last husband Joe Newton Philpot was buried in the Memory Park Cemetery, next to his first wife, Christine Rowland.

    The marker for Vera's joint grave with her second husband Lloyd Godfrey marker is under the Godfrey name, but it appears to be the same burial reported in the FAG memorial above under her last married name.  There is an FAG memorial under her Godfrey name also, with a photo of the joint gave with Lloyd.  A suggestion was submitted on 24 September 2018 to FAG, who manage the Godfrey memorial, to merge these two memorials.
