Though Joe is enumerated here as "Joe Jr," we know his middle name was different, being Joseph Newton, while his father was Joseph Ralph. He is reported as Joseph N in the 1940 census.

He is listed here as Joe N Philpot Jr, but as far as I can find in any record, his father's name was Joseph Ralph Philpot, attested in various sources.
His wife Christine (Rowland) Philpot is also listed at the Gardena Street address. His sister Bettie is at the same address on Gardena St., with the same post office address of Moodie. The entry for Bettie is odd, reporting her with the same middle and last name, which is also the same as the PO address in Ada for her and her brother, P O Box Moodie, Ada, Oklahoma.
