    In 1912 Mary made a trip to British Columbia.  A Canadian Immigration record reports her entry with her stepmother Jennie and the other children to join Mary's father Joseph Asa, who was working there helping build the Canadian-Alaskan Highway.  The family went to Vancouver by train.

    This record reports that Mary was born in Texas.  For some reason this immigration record has all the children born in Texas, like Jennie, though other records, including family information, tells us all the children were born in Marlow, Oklahoma.

    According to the 1930 census, Mary Jenkins married Neil Yates in about 1912.  Family information reported by Harold Christian indicates the wedding was in Marlow, but no family member had the date of the marriage.  The 1930 census reports Mary was married at age 17.  In the 1920 census, Neil Yates and Mary Jenkins are enumerated with two kids, living in the same household with Mary's brother Everett and his wife Ocy and family in Burkburnett, Texas, in the 1920 census.

    The 1930 census entry is somewhat messy, being written with a wide-nibbed pen and being somewhat smeared and faded.  The Ancestry.com transcriptions, further, are incorrect in several regards.  Mary's name is written by the enumerator as Yates, Mary H, rather than Mary N.  Neil's name appears to be spelled Niel.

    In 1930 Neil and Mary are living in North Caddo Township of Caddo County, Oklahoma.  Two new children have been born since the last census report:  Beatrice and Cleve.
