Informant Mrs Virgie Quaid, wife
Removal 27 April 1956 for burial in Velma, Oklahoma, Cemetery, by Arrington Funeral Home
[Certificate was actually signed and filed 26 April 1956. A newspaper obit reports that the date of the funeral and burial in Velma, Stephens County [Marlow area], Oklahoma, was 27 April]
Filed 26 April 1956, Filed State 14 May 1956
Note that the certificate reports that the body was removed on 27 April 1956. But this was in Stanton, Texas, near Midland, in west Texas. It is difficult to believe that the funeral home came to pick up the body on the 27th of April to prepare it for burial, and they would be able to get it all the way up to Stephens County, Oklahoma, by that afternoon for the funeral. That is a full day's drive in itself, aside from the preparation time.
Note that the certificate was singed off on and actually filed on 26 April. So the death certificate has erred in noting the 27th as date of removal. Removal was on 26 April and the funeral was 27 April.
The cemetery is now called Old Velma Cemetery.
