Memories of a descendant:
Martha Elvira - I assume she was a lovely person from the life-long impression she left on Mother (Minnie), who was only 12 at the time, but she quoted her mother and has been very attached and was truly impressed by her mother's life. Martha came from the Israel family who originated in North Carolina. In the family history book "Children of Israel" written by Kenneth Israel - Martha Elvira was dropped from the history book when she married Newton Goggans and left that area of NC.
Martha and Newton had five children: Arthur who died at a young age, Ethel, Minnie Lee, Maud and Willie.
