At the time of the death of his brother Chester Carleece Dumond, Chester's obituary reported that John L Dumond was living in Dallas, Texas.

However, directories show he lived shortly before that in a neighbouring town in the neighboring county of Tarrant, in Arlington, next to Fort Worth. For one year he had an address in another mid-city just south of Arlington, Mansfield.
