  Sam's mother is reported her under her initials PA, probably for Peggy Ann.  Peggy is the common nickname for Margaret.  Margaret Ann was also Peggy in the previous sentence in 1860 with her parents.

  Several Horton genealogies have his name as Samuel Oliver, but provide no docmentation or discussion.  None have any record after the 1880 census, nor suggest a death or burial date.
  
  Matching census records for 1900 and 1910 are found for Samuel O Horton with parents' birth dstes matching Alexander and Margaret.  The 1900 record is in Holmes County, bordering Attala County on the northeast.  The 1910 record is in Yolabusha County, a couple of counties to the north, which is bordered on the north by Panola County, a common transit point into Phillips County and Arkansas County, Arkansas, for Hortons and related Jenkines and Criswells, as well as Butlers.  In 1930 they are back in Holmes County.
  
  These records are likely for the correct Samuel Horton.  Seraches connect these records to the record of Samuel with his parents in 1880 with his parents in Attala County, Mississippi.
