Some genealogies have this Arthur E(ugene) Green confused with anArthur Eugene Green born in Dallas County, Arkansas.  I have foundboth families in their separate places in Arkansas, where Arthur EGreen, son of John and Margaret, was born in 1894, in Faulkner County. The Arthur Eugene who married Alma Young was in the places documentedhere, and the children shown here are those reported in censuses of1920-30 for Arthur E and his wife Alma Minnie Young.

It is possible that this Arthur's middle name was also Eugene, and heis reported that way in two genealogies.  I am somewhat uncertainhowever, since there has been confusion with the genealogies forArthur Eugene of Dallas County, and these that correctly report ArthurE and Alma Minnie have insufficient details to appear definitive.  Oneof them does, however, provide death information for this Arthur E.

I originally thought this Arthur Eugene was the Arthur, son of Jacoband Susan Green, found in Hugo, Oklahoma, in 1910.  I later, however, found the earlier censuses of the families and clearly confirmed thatthis was a different family.  The 1900-20 censuses contributed to themisidentification by reporting this Arthur E as born in Oklahoma. However, censuses with the correct spouse and children reported hiswith a birth in Faulkner County, Arkansas.  I then also found thisfamily in Cypress Township, Faulkner County, Arkansas, which Ipersonally know from living in Conway, Arkansas, also in FaulknerCounty.

Then I found the 1930 census for Arthur and Alma, with their seconddaughter Catherine.  They were in Gainesville, Texas, for both 1920and 1930 censuses.  With only the 1920 census, I interpreted this as aconfirmation of Jacob's son Arthur, since Jacob and his siblings werefrom Gainesville.

However, in the Gainesville census in 1930, the birthplace of Arthur Ewas reported as Arkansas, which matched the rising evidence from theArkansas family, though in 1920 Arthur's birthplace was reported asOklahoma, which matched our Arthur Green.  The Arkansas origin wassupported by the fact that the birthplace of the father of ArthurEugene in both 1920 and 1930 was given as Missouri, which matches thegenealogies with several generations coming from Virginia throughTennessee and Missouri to Arkansas before we find Arthur E's parentsJohn and Margaret in Garvin County, Oklahoma in 1910.
