Notes
- Betsey appears to be the second wife of William Emmons. A marriage record is found in 1816 in Giles County, Virginia for a William Emmons and a Alice Kirk.
Betsy's name was obtained from the death certificate of one of her daughters, reporting her parents' names. The 1860 census enumerates many of Betsy's children. Searches for William Emmons records brought up a death certificate for one Manerva Jane Crouch, whose parents were reported as William Emmons and Betsy Reeves.
