    Mr. George Washington Butler died Tuesday at Baptist Hospital inMemphis. A native of Jonestown, he was born on August 2, 1909, the sonof the late George W. and Elizabeth Salter Butler.

    He attended Millsaps College; served as supervisor of transportationfor Coahoma County Schools and supervisor for the Coahoma CountyWelfare Department for a number of years; he was superintendent ofSunday School at Jonestown Methodist Church for several years and wasa member of the Board of Stewards; he was a Shriner and a Mason. Healso had farming interests in Jonestown, where he was a lifelongresident.

    Survivors include his wife, Sue Etheredge Butler; two daughters, Mrs.Ben Hamilton of Hampton, Va., and Mrs. William M. Hutton of SealBeach, California; two brothers, Moss M. Butler of Jonestown and DavidSalter Butler of Lyon; and four grandchildren, Holly Butler Hutton,George William Hutton and Suzanne Petrie Hutton, all of Seal Beach,Calif., and Margaret Sue Hamilton of Hampton, Va.
