Notice that George's middle initial varies in reports and genealogies. He appears as George A and George S.  Vonnie Cantrell has full namesfor many of this family and reports George as George WellingtonMcSwain.  But there is no documentation and I have not found any forthis name.  I have not found his death or burial information.

One undocumented genealogy reports his name as George Davis.  thisappears to be an error based on an 1880 census where George D is achild of Thomas and Hannah McSwain in Cleveland County.  This is aconfusion with another McSwain family in the area.  The son in focusis George David McSwain, who also appears in our genealogy.  TheGeorge McSwain we are discussion here was the son of George WashingtonMcSwain, who died in 1864, and Hannah McSwain (maiden name).
