Notes

• In 1880, Daniel and his wife Mary J Winter are living a few houses down the road from Joseph Sanford Jenkins, and next door to Daniel's sister Nancy Ann Taylor Day and her son Daniel H.  The 1880 census age would indicate Daniel was born about 1828.  Research by Harold Christian indicated he was born around 1830.
  
  "Joseph's second wife is believed to be Lucinda Taylor, sister of Nancy Ann (Taylor) Day and of Daniel Taylor, all believed to have been born in Mississippi ca 1824, ca 1825 and ca 1830, respectively."

  Daniel's state of birth is reported here as Tennessee, yet I note that the birth state of the father of all the children is reported as Mississippi.  That would make it seem they are step children, but their last name is reported as Taylor.
  
  An interesting thing is that the report of the children's father's birth in Mississippi matches family information about Daniel!  Though this census says that Daniel was born in Tennessee, the family memories indicate he was born in Mississippi as was his sister Nancy.
  
  The date for Daniel Taylor from this census seems a likely year of birth (age 52, thus born 1828), but the place of birth as Tennessee seems questionable.
  
  This 1880 census also included an agricultural schedule, which included Daniel and several of his neighbors who are kin in various ways through marriage.
