In the 1850 census, George and Edith are enumerated in Gilmer County, Georgia, near his brother Marick West and other Mullinax, Green and West relatives.  George and Edith's two sons Benjamin and Marick lived a few houses away.

"I REALLY think that our George W. is the son of George W. who lived in Pickens County most of his life. The ages are right and they all came from the same place. I just wish we could find something that tells us for sure!"

Ron West provided the link to another West genealogy for this line by Mary West Rumera, which has good information on each generation.  For George West, born ca 1776, she has a list of children.  Her list lacks a George W West, thought by some West researchers to also be a son of George and his wife Colista McHanie.
