  • Bill Corbin had some excellent information on Yerby/Erby Corbin in his genealogy, but it is no longer online.

David and his son Erby (Yearby) were enumerated on the same page in the 1830 census for Pickens County, South Carolina.

The 1850 census was the first one we found before encountering Diana Mathieson's tanscriptions and analysis.  Here is my transcription.

Yearby died in January 1860.  His death was reported in the 1860 census Mortality Schedule.  He was reported as 50 years old and cause of death was reported as Dropsy, being ill for 32 days.  On the same page about three lines below Yearby was Francis Mullenax, who is also related to the West-Green line in this genealogy.

In her analysis of the censuses, Diana Gale Matthiesen asks some good questions about the children reported in the 1850 census.

    Where is Rosannah?
Theresa and Melissa should be seven years old, not five.
It's Rosannah who should be five.
The children from Andrew on down, at least, had to have been born in GA because they were in GA by the 1840 census.
