Lizzie's grandson Kenneth McSwain shared memories of family membersand mused about Lizzie's death.

    -------------------
Another sister was Martha Rowland Allsup.  Her husband was Walter[Waltie] Allsup, brother of Ray Allsup, Aunt Mertie's husband.  Thefour of them lived near Stuttgart and ran a huge duck hunting clubnear Stuttgart, when I was a youngster.  Before that Uncle Ray andAunt Mertie, lived in a big clubhouse on Cache River and ran a bigfishing club there.  Ray and Mertie never had children, but Walter andMartha had a son Raymond and a daughter Linda. Walter, Martha, and mymom Connie are buried in DeWitt.

Those 3 sisters Elizabeth, Martha, and Mertie, were 3 of the sweetestkind hearted folks I've ever known.  Aunt Roberta probably was too,but I wasn't around her as much and wasn't that close to her.  Thefarm you mentioned below is still in the family and is being activelyfarmed by a local who rents it for a portion of the crops when it'ssold.  My granddad passed it on to Mom and she passed it on to me.

Another sister was Roberta Rowland Girrard, wife of Leon Girrard, wholived in DeWitt. Leon was of French descent and had a thick accent. They had a son Charles and a daughter Juanita. All of them are nowgone.

There was also another brother, Walton, who was Shirley RowlandMitchell's father. Her mother was Laura.

I remember when she died, I had just gotten my first JCP store asmanager the month before in Garnett KS, but of course we went home andto her funeral and burial in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. I also attendedher brother Edward's funeral there.

Lizzie's parents are buried in the woods behind the house where sheand James lived on the old family place.  Her grandson Ken McSwaincomments that the family farm was passed on to his mother and then tohim.  He comments about those woods:
"I used to wander around back there when we'd visit during thesummer."
