• The entry in the 1920 census under the name Cora E Jones appears to be for Connie Louise Jones.  The entry for the child of this family matching Cora's age is Connie in the 1930 census.

  In April 2008, Connie's son Kenneth Wirt McSwain contacted me by email, giving me some information on his mother and her marriage to Wirt Barnard McSwain.  Kenneth says his mother was born in Ethel (Prairie Township, Arkansas County) and is still living at age 88, now in Sherwood, Arkansas (a suburb of North Little Rock, in Pulaski County).  In August Ken sent me more family data.  This gives his mother's full name as Connie Louise.
  
  With this information I was able to make sense of an entry I had found some time before in the Arkansas Marriage Index, indicating a marriage of Wirt B McSwain to Connie Jones in 1938.  I had not been able to determine who that Connie Jones was.  Then in one email message Ken McSwain referred to his grandfather Jim Jones.

  With this clue I then was able to find Connie and her parents James and Elizabeth in the 1930 census for Prairie Township, Arkansas County, Arkansas.

  Only later did I find information indicating that the 1920 census entry appeared to be the same person.

  Connie Louise McSwain, age 91, died May 14, 2011. She was the former Chief Deputy of Pulaski County Treasure, retiring after 21 years. She was a member of Belleview Baptist Church, Ethel, Ark. Survivors include two children, Joyce McSwain of Scott, Ark., Kenneth McSwain of Fulton, Mo.; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Preceding in death was former wife, Wirt McSwain.
  
  Services are 2 p.m., Wednesday at Essex Funeral Home Chapel, 1405 S. Grandview Dr., DeWitt, Ark. Visitation from 1 p.m. until service. Burial will be in Cedarcrest Memorial Gardens, DeWitt, Ark. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, c/o Josie Padgett, Ethel, Ark. 72048.
