• The family name is found as Brinsbac and Brinsback.  The form Brinsbac seems to be the French version.  The Germano-French, German or Dutch form would likely be Brinsback as we find for some of the family in the American censuses.  The name is found in Catholic baptism and marrriage records in various forms, such as Brinbar, Brinbard and Branbar.

  The minutes tell us that Pierre Pinot died 9 September 1844.
  Amelia Ann Pinot was appointed administratrix of her husband's estate 19 December 1846
  
  It appears that Amelia married widower Louis Gocio some time after Pierre's death   It is possible that his first wife was also named Amelia.  His will refers to the chidlren of his first wife Amelia Gocio.  Otherwise, we have misidentified Amelia Brinsback Pinot as the second wife of Louis Gocio, who was enumerated in 1850 under the name of Amelia Gocio.
  
  Louis and his wife Amelia were enumerated with their blended family in 1850.  Her name was entered as Emilie, as was her daughter's and Louis' daughter of the same name.  Emilie Brinsback Pinot's name on her gravestone was Emilia.
