    ELVIN I. JACKSON

    Elvin I. Jackson, of Mariette [Marietta], Okla., was born, February 1,1927 in Oswalt, Okla., to William F. and Ola Roach Jackson. He passedaway, Sunday, September 22, 2002, in Woodview Nursing Home, Ardmore,Okla., at the age of 75 years, 7 months and 21 days.

    A resident of Love County all of his life, Mr. Jackson attendedseveral schools in Love County. He and Rosa Mae Freeman were marriedin Marietta on June 30, 1945. Mr. Jackson was retired from MariettaSportwear after 25 years of employment, working as a cutter. He lovedtalking and sharing with people. Mr. Jackson cherished spending timewith his family, and he enjoyed gardening, yard work and fishing. Hewas a member and deacon of the Enville Community Church.

    Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Jimmy Jacksonon June 1, 2001, his stepmother, Belvia Jackson and a brother, LloydJackson.

    He is survived by his wife, Rosa Mae Jackson of Marietta; sons anddaughters-in-law, David Lee and Camellia Jackson of Texarkana; BobbyGlenn and Sue Jackson of Baytown; daughters and sons-in-law, FrancesMarie and Richard Andrews of Baytown; Dawnyce and Ron Winkles ofArdmore; daughter-in-law, Dora Jackson of Marietta; brothers, J.M.Jackson of Ardmore; Gene Jackson of Courtney, Okla.; sisters, LucilleSloan of Marietta; Christine Jones of Lone Grove; 12 grandchildren and19 great-grandchildren.

    Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, September 25,2002 at Enville Community Church in Enville, Okla. with Bro. HubertSponsler and Bro. Don Keizor.  Interment will be at Lakeview Cemeteryin Marietta.

    Pallbearers will be Rickie Willis, B.G. Caldwell, Jeff Willis, JamesMinyard, Randall Jackson and Wayne Jackson. Honorary pallbearers willbe his grandchildren.
    The family has requested memorial contributions to the Cross TimbersHospice c/o Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home.
